I went for my race yesterday. It was a very, very long day - 20+ hrs of racing and then on the way home we ran out of gas for our motor and had to be rescued by our commodore. He's also crushing on our skipper, Debbie, so it was a great moment for him to be our knight in shining armor on a pontoon. We talked lots, the ladies and I, about our all women's crew. We want to get an official team together, get some sponsors, get uniforms and gear, and start practicing for the 2014 Pacific Cup to Hawaii. I'm dead serious about these plans, so we're slowly lining up all the details.
Boy am I having the time of my life!
I interviewed last week for a new job and so far so good. I think they love me. I certainly know I love them. It's a small tech startup and they need a finance and accounting department. Tomorrow I will be meeting with the Director of Engineering to go over details since the finance roll is very connected with engineering and manufacturing. It'll be a nice little bump up for my salary too!
I haven't heard much from the Doc. I do know he was quite busy with buying property for his new business, relocating for his gigue in Fargo, his maman was helping him move, and his father has cancer. So I've been laying low and not engaging him much. We've been playing Words With Friends here and there, get a few short blips of conversation throughout the week. What is apparent though is the interest we still have in each other. The more I get to know him the more I like him. My heart flutters when he teases me. Some days I walk around grinning like an idiot thinking about him. But that isn't to say the deal is sealed in any way. I'm still keeping an eye out, still going on dates here and there. It's always pays to shop around.
So I almost have the job I want. I almost have the guy I want. I almost have the affaire de coeur I want... very slowly, carefully, and very, very cautiously. I'm so happy I'm about to burst.
