Portland Tango Festival 2007

Hmm... it was a most thoroughly enjoyable weekend of excessive dancing. There was lack of sleep, lack of eating, a lack of thinking. However there was a lot of friends already met and new friends, there was a lot of dancing, a lot of alternative milongas, a lot of good music, a lot of wonderful moments of laughter, a whole lot of learning new steps and did I mention there was a whole lot of dancing?

Now my sleep schedule is completely out of tune with reality, the things I asked my roommate to do he didn't do so I'm way behind schedule, exhausted... but my oh my, what a wonderful weekend.

My analysis of the Portland festival would be the same as other's: its fun, lots of people, but really bad navigators. There's certainly quite a few beginners, which are always welcome, but my god, stop running into me! And of course there were moments when I was bulldozed into another couple by some horrible leads. There was only once when I danced with an incredibly dull dancer who did too much and knew too little. I just prayed the tanda would end soon. Then there was a somewhat known dancer who left in the middle of a tanda with me. Rude. Nothing like that ever happens in Denver.

So... would I go again? You betcha. There's dancing involved - I'm there!
